UNPACKED TIP #2
What if your flight is delayed and you are going to miss your connecting flight?
What if you arrive at the airport and read the departure boards and you find that your flight has been delayed? Upon seeing the new time and doing the calculations for arrival at your connector airport, you have a mild panic attack as you realize that you are going to miss your connection.
What do you do?
First go the customer service counter for the airline you are flying, hopefully they can provide timely help. If not, which is what happened to me recently in Madrid, call the airline’s 800 number and see if there are any other flights out of your current airport that can eventually get you back to your eventual destination. If so, have them book you on that flight. If no other flights are available, start checking on the next flights from your connector airport to your destination. If a flight exists and it makes sense have the airline book you on that flight.
